Amy is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on bead and fiber art. Inspired by natural forms, architecture, textile design, and cultures that embrace ornament, she finds ways to filter these ideas and concepts into original ideas and designs. Polymer clay is a rich medium that has captivated Amy for almost 30 years. Small-batch beads, buttons and components (and jewelry made with them) are Amy’s primary products. Her original “Stacker Beads” are popular among jewelry fans and polymer clay artists. Amy also makes bead embroidered art and accessories, ranging from jewelry to artist trading cards to larger, complex “bead paintings”. She also enjoys creating acrylic gelli monoprints to use as framed art or material for stationary, bookmarks, collage or bases for illustration. Amy also has experience with knitting, quilting and other fabric art, needle felting and wet felting, free-form embroidery, and fabric dyeing. She regularly volunteers her drawing and painting skills at Passion Works Studio in Athens. She was featured on HGTV’s “That’s Clever!” in 2007 and on Arts Bridge (PBS) in 2015.
Amy lives in Hocking Hills and is a member of the Hocking Hills Artists and Craftsmen Association. Her work is available at Homegrown on Main in Logan and Urban Eden in Cincinnati.
