Laura is a life-long resident of Hocking Hills and artist at Hocking Hills gourds. She and her husband grow all shapes and sizes of hardshell gourds. It takes 2 years to produce a gourd that is ready to craft. 

Once cleaned, they are turned into functional art using many mediums and styles. She creates luminaries, birdhouses, fairy houses, musical instruments, bowls, renaissance canteens, garden art, masks, vases, games, and ornaments.
