March 6th 2023 HHACA meeting

Bill Boone came to talk to us about collaborating with them on the Artist display at the Washboard and Art Festival this year on June 15-17.

He is proposing a large tent to house Artists with a gallery space for additional sales. Artists would work on a piece during the festival to then auction off. Artists can set a minimum bid and they would take a 20% commission. Additional sales by artists during the festival would be charged a 10% commission. The end of Festival Auction will be moved to the art tent.

Diane Fickel has volunteered to be an artist coordinator on the project. Many ways to alter the requirements of the “two day completion requirement” were discussed and Diane will work to negotiate different ways for our artists to fulfill this requirement. If you are interested in participating please let her know. Diana Fickel barbewrld@yahoo.com

Reminder that dues are due. Any dues not paid by this month will be charged a $5 late fee.

Fall Show: We were unable to get in to the Lodge this year but 2024 it should be there. The 2023 show will be at the school.
The Lodge is still looking for artists to display and art for their gift shop. There was discussion about people not getting messages returned. It was suggested that the best way to get in touch with Todd for presentations would be to go in and ask for him at the Front desk. Check to see when he is working before you make the trip.
The idea of a possible show at the Lodge during the winter hike was also proposed. Parking and space considerations would be an issue though.
Art Sales in the Theater Lobby: we can have some space during the Air Stream event May 4-6 from 9am to 6 pm. Vikki will be heading that up so please contact her if you are interested. vikkiestell@yahoo.com

The Bowen House August date was filled but they offered us the month of November. A show of hands of those who would participate was not enough to fill the show so we will not be doing it this year. Sue will let them know.

A reminder to send Sue any information for the website. Each artist has room for an artist bio, with links to their work, and up to 10 pictures. Pleas also include an image that can be cropped to a square as your header image. Anyone who would like to refresh the pictures on the site can send new work to Sue at suefinch@suefinch.com Here is a link to the Artist page to see what I have for you. https://hockinghillsartistsandcraftsmen.com/meet-the-artists/
